Directly inspired by '300,' the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures film directed by Zack Snyder, 300: March To GloryTM will be available for the PSP system in March 2007 along with the film. The film and game, based on Frank Miller's '300' graphic novel, tell the story of King Leonidas, who along with his 300 brave Spartan soldiers, battle to stave-off Xerxes and his tyrannical Persian army in this retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae. 300: March To Glory's distinctive environments and color treatments are influenced by the films unique visual style. The film, graphic novel and game are all packed with brutally intense and graphically violent fighting scenes.
In 300: March To Glory, players will unleash the full fury
of the Spartan army using the unique Wrath combat system where a
Spartans health is determined by timely use of defensive battle skills
and mastery of vicious and deadly Wrath Attacks.
Players will fight alone, as King Leonidas and as the
Spartan phalanx, the group formation featured in the film, against the
mighty Persian army. In the visceral, action-packed 300: March To Glory, players
have the ability to battle the enemy with three distinct and
upgradeable weapon sets: o Sword & Shield The most basic weapon set
of the Spartan soldier. o Spear & Shield A more strategic weapon
set, requiring pace and rhythm for success in battle. o Dual Swords An
unlockable weapon set which, once learned, is the most deadly.
300: March To Glory replicates the movie and graphic novels
intensity of violence, blood, and mutilation; throughout the course of
the game, players can unlock over 20 distinct combination moves with
which they can decapitate, dismember, and disembowel their enemies.
Through accomplishing great deeds in battle, players earn
Kleos or honor which can be used to purchase weapons and unlock new
battle skills and combinations. David Wenham, the movies narrator, reprises his role as the narrator in 300: March To Glory.
